Calls are answered weekdays, and appointments are available by phone, video or in person. If you've lost coverage or an enrollment window closes soon, calling is the fastest way to get started.
If you just lost your health coverage
- Note the date coverage ended. Losing employer coverage opens a 60-day special enrollment window on the marketplace. The clock runs from the day coverage ends, not the day you were told.
- Ask HR for the COBRA notice. You'll want the monthly COBRA cost in hand to compare against a marketplace plan. For many households the marketplace is cheaper once subsidies apply, but not always.
- Gather the basics. Household size, an estimate of this year's income, and the names of the doctors and prescriptions you need covered are enough to start.
